At your pace, through practice.

By the end of this course you will be able to

  • Explain the role of an OpAMP control plane and Bindplane's architecture
  • Install Bindplane and connect BDOT collectors
  • Build pipelines of sources, processors and destinations
  • Reduce, mask and route telemetry while measuring the gains
  • Deploy at scale with fleets, gateways and rollouts
  • Manage Bindplane as code and run it in production

🎯 Level : Intermediate👥 Who it is for : Observability engineers, SREs, DevOps and security teams who manage many OpenTelemetry collectors and want to control volumes and costs

Frequently asked questions

What is Bindplane?

A control plane for OpenTelemetry collectors: it builds pipelines, deploys them through rollouts over OpAMP and measures the volumes sent to backends.

Does data go through the Bindplane server?

No. The server pushes configurations and receives measurements; telemetry goes straight from collectors to destinations.

Do I need to pay to follow the course?

No: the Free plan (up to 10 collectors and 100 GB/day) is enough for every lab. A free license key is required.

How does it differ from Grafana Alloy?

Alloy is a collector distribution with its own syntax; Bindplane is a control plane that manages collector fleets. An article in the course compares them in detail.
