Frequently asked questions

Is SigNoz free?

Yes, SigNoz is open source and can be self-hosted; a cloud offering and enterprise features are also available.

Why ClickHouse for observability?

High compression, fast analytical queries and good handling of high cardinality, all in SQL.

Do I need to know how to write SQL?

Not for everyday use (query builder, search); SQL is for advanced analyses.

Can I move from SigNoz to another tool?

Yes, if your applications are instrumented with OpenTelemetry: only the destination changes.
