What next?

Frequently asked questions

What is Dynatrace?

It's a complete observability platform powered by artificial intelligence.

What's the difference between SaaS and Managed?

SaaS is hosted by Dynatrace, Managed is installed on your own infrastructure.

What is the OneAgent?

A single agent installed on your hosts that automatically collects all metrics and traces.

How does Davis AI work?

Davis causal AI uses the Smartscape topology and observed dependencies to group related anomalies into a single problem and point to the most likely root cause, with supporting evidence. Its accuracy depends on how complete the instrumentation is.

What is Grail?

Dynatrace's data lakehouse, designed specifically for unified observability data.

Can you monitor containers?

Yes, Dynatrace integrates seamlessly with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.

What is Monaco?

The 'Monitoring as Code' tool for managing your Dynatrace configurations as code.

Can you simulate the user journey?

Yes, with synthetic monitors (Synthetic Monitoring).

How do you manage costs in Dynatrace?

With the Dynatrace Platform Subscription (DPS), the current model: a single annual commitment is consumed by each capability according to a rate card (host hours, GB of logs ingested, retained or queried, sessions…). You track it in Account Management (cost and usage, budget alerts) and with DQL queries on billing events. Older contracts still use Host Units and DDUs (Davis Data Units).

Is there a certification?

Yes, there are several levels such as Associate, Advanced Observability, etc.
